After returning to Columbus, he started a duo with the very talented Darryl Sumbry called D&T which captured the hearts of many for over ten years also as the opening act for the likes of artists such as: The Isley Brothers, Patty Labelle, Glen Jones, Anthony Hamilton Angie Stone and many more. Tony continues to perform at various venues in and around the area. Tony currently has a show called the Tony Parkman Show Live and is currently working on his first solo album to be released in 2015. His new single and video is out now, Life Is Better With You, which can be seen on YouTube. Opening up the show will be the beautiful singer Fuscia. She will be competing at the Freedom Friday All-White Party, starring The O’Jays and KEM. The party will include the “Sing Your Way to the State Farm 2014 Neighborhood Awards Weekend Expo” finale, hosted by Comedian Sheryl Underwood. Also opening the show will be Chris Kelley. The journey to realizing a dream of a career in music began at the tender age of twelve, where he sang his first solo at a Christmas convention for church. By the time he reached his senior year of high school in 2004, he had performed in many talent shows in his hometown of Springfield, Ohio. In addition to displaying his vocal ability he also had leading roles in many plays and one-acts. His ability to impersonate and the ease with which he carried himself on stage led him to a brief stint with radio station 1600 WVLM at age nineteen. While working as a commercial writer and account manager for 1600 WVLM, he joined a local youth advocacy group to film a commercial promoting a greater knowledge of STD’s in the Black community. After leaving Wright State University (where he was a member of the male chorus), he joined a male quartet which performed all across the United States, and in Montego, Jamaica in 2006. He relocated in Columbus, GA in 2011 where he has immersed himself in the music scene as the host of the popular “Jazz Night Live” with Charles “Big Sazy” Robinson and Tony Parkman. It also features Grammy award winner Marvin “Chanz” Parkman. He is currently promoting his first solo project co-written and produced by Charles “Big Saxy” Robinson as an independent artist. This month they will be making a donation to the Liberty Theatre. This will be an entertaining show as well as bringing awareness to supporting The Liberty Theater. Lav Luv will be the MC for the show. Starting out hosting high school talent shows, Luv has been inciting laughter-infused riots for years with his bright blend of humor. Upon returning from service in the U.S. Armed Forces, he dove right into a career in comedy and was almost instantly recognized as a fresh face in the world of funny. After a couple open-mic nights at the Uptown Comedy Corner and several performances on “Showtime at the Apollo,” Lav Luv had proven himself to judges and audiences, and his dream and destiny of becoming a legendary stand-up comedian began. In 2008 Lav Luv added yet another accomplishment to his rising star, when he beat out over 200 fellow comedians to win season 3 of Bill Bellamy’s “Who Got Jokes” on TVOne. In 2009 Lav Luv filmed his critically acclaimed one man special, “Lav Luv, I’m Gonna Get In Trouble” in Los Angeles, CA, due out in early October 2009.
