- Unity Breakfast-Carver High School PTSA is celebrating the beginning of
the Carver/Spencer Classic by hosting a Unity Breakfast on Saturday, August
25, 2007 from 8:00-10:15 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church Annex, 831 6th
Avenue.
- Making a Difference-The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension in
Columbus announces a three-day training conference for professional that
work in the child abuse/domestic violence arena. Mark your calendar for
August 27-29, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Columbus Trade Center.

Sign Languages Classes – for children 6-12 years old. A sign language
performing group will also be put together. The children will learn poems,
skits and song and perform around the Columbus and Phenix City area. For

State University Fine Arts Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hosted by

- Monday, August 13- The Liberty Cultural Center Fine Arts Academy is
offering classes in Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Latin and Exercise.

Saturday, August 18- Military Appreciation Day at Columbus Technical
Institute from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be free games, entertainment,
food, prizes and open to the public. Please come and join us.
- Saturday, August 18- The Greater Atlanta Chapter of Credit Union’s
Bowl-A-Thon for Children’s Miracle Network will be held in Atlanta. The
funds raised will support the expansion of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Pediatric Intensive Care Units and the Children’s Emergency departments. For

- Wednesday, August 22- Career Launch Job Fair at Columbus Technical
Institute in Patrick Hall from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There will be more than
2 dozen employers, resume writing and interviewing workshops and more, this
event is free and open to the public.
- Friday, August 25- The Impact Center presents Friday Night Live on
Victory Drive, come join us for a clean safe environment for your children
and teens. There will be singing, dancing, and entertainment for ages 5 to
12 years old from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Impact Center is located at 1600
Blanchard Blvd. off Victory Drive Between 22nd Ave. and Jackson Ave. For
