Delta Life Development Foundation, Inc., and the Columbus (GA) Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Presents Third Annual EMBODI Seminar
COLUMBUS, GA: May 21, 2012 – The Delta Life Development Foundation, Inc. (DLDF), and the Columbus (GA) Alumnae Chapter (CAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., will present its third annual EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) seminar on Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Delta Life Development Foundation House located at 4925 Forrest Road, Columbus, Georgia.
Both informal and empirical data suggests that the vast majority of African-American males continue to be in crisis and not reaching their fullest potential educationally, socially and emotionally. EMBODI is designed to address these issues through dialogue, and recommendations for change and action.
The program will entail panel discussions on Education and Military Careers, The Legal System and Money Management. Guest Speakers Include: Lt. Col. Jeffrey L. Fletcher, Lerone Harper, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Deitrich Jones, Columbus Police Department, Attorney Raymond Lakes – Office of the Public Defender, Quincy Wade – Columbus Bank and Trust, and Richard Wells.
The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Eddie Obleton of Columbus State University.
Lunch and a limited supply of T-shirts and Books will be provided to the attendees.
