Sexton and Rutledge Promoted to CB&T Senior Leadership Team
Columbus Bank and Trust (CB&T), a division of Synovus Bank, announced today that Guy “Len” Sexton and Luther Rutledge have been promoted to Senior Vice Presidents of the bank. “Len and Luther have played significant roles in the success of the Financial Services program at CB&T,” said CB&T President and CEO Billy Blanchard. “They are well known in the community for their knowledge, experience and commitment to providing excellent service to their customers. They are also highly respected leaders within our Private ClientServices team, serving as mentors to others in the department and throughout the bank. They will be outstanding additions to the CB&T Senior Management Team.” Sexton, Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman of Synovus Securities, Inc., began his career in banking and investments in 1973. He has been with Synovus Securities since 1984 and is currently a Financial Consultant and Licensed Insurance/Annuity Agent. He has been recognized by Synovus for almost 10 consecutive years as a member of the Chairman’s Council, the company’s highest recognition for brokerage and investments production. Sexton received a Bachelor of Science from The University of Tennessee. He is also a graduate of the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He is an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and is Chairman of the Board of St. Luke School. Rutledge began his career in banking and investments in1999 following retirement from the U.S. Army as a First Sergeant. He currently serves as a Financial Consultant and Licensed Insurance/Annuity Agent. He has been recognized for his performance since his first year of employment with the company. Accolades include the Synovus President’s Club and Chairman’s Council recognition as well as the CB&T “All-Star” Award, Synovus WINGS Winner, and Hartford Life Insurance Admiral Club.
Rutledge received a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Phoenix. He is very active in the community through his support of the United Way and UNCF. Rutledge is also a weekly guest on the “Time Out with Sam Mitchell” radio talk show. During the “Time Out for Your Finances” segment of the show, he shares information on planning for the future, savings alternatives, and how to manage through challenging economic environments.
