House of Mercy Dedicates New Storage Building
Columbus, GA – The theme of the dedication ceremony was: In Your Hour Of
Need. Have Faith in God. It happened November 9, 2011 when the House of Mercy lost
its storage shed with gifts, clothing, books and sundry items. Their response was: what
was meant for evil, God used for Good. So on November 23, 2011, the House of Mercy held its Dedication Service for the new storage unit from Action Portable Buildings Company.
The new structure is named in behalf of the generous, Mr. James Cantrell, who donated the second unit to the shelter. The dedication program began with a hymn. Evangelist Johanne Harris, The House of Mercy, gave Welcoming Remarks.
Chairman of the Board Mr. Ted Jones gave Words of Gratitude to the Builders and Workers and Recognized the Men of the House of Mercy. Chaplain Gene Lindsey did a Scripture reading. Pastor Thomas Carstens offered Prayer. Elder Bobby Harris introduced the Speaker. Dr. J. L. Love. Dr. Love delivered a Message of Dedication. The Act of Dedication was performed,concluding with the people’s response-we dedicate this building to the service of Christian fellowship and joy; and Chairman Jones gave a Prayer of Dedication. Dr. J. L. Love delivered the Benediction. Some of the dignitaries present were Councilman Jerry “Pops” Barnes; Mr. James Cantrell, Action Portable Buildings Company executive; Mr. Mark Cantrell, Muscogee County Board of Education member and others.
