Columbus, GA--On Saturday, July 16th, Marquese “Skinny” Averett led over 100 peaceful protesters through Downtown Columbus. This event follows exactly one week to the day that Averett and NAACP President Tonza Thomas were arrested for leading another peaceful protest through Columbus. The protesters were diverse in age, race and religion. “We can’t say, ‘All Lives Matter’, until we acknowledge that, ‘All Black Lives Matter’, as well,” Averett said.
