Annual Breakfast Honors Women of Courage in Medicine

Columbus, GA -- In the crisp early dawn morning of March the 5th, hundreds of courageous souls gathered at Columbus Convention and Trade Center for the Annual Rosa Parks Women of Courage Breakfast. Four local women in medicine were honored during. The women are all successful doctors whose contributions have made a significant impact in their communities and on the city as well. This year's guest speaker is Dr. Valeries Montgomery Rice, the Dean and Executive Vice President of Morehouse School of Medicine. The honorees this year were: Dr. Kathryn K. Cheek, Rivertown Pediatrics, President Georgia Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics

Annual Christmas Parade Draws Record Crowd

Columbus, GA – Pictured is one of the 100 participants in the Annual Christmas Parade held in the city, along with Phenix City, AL. There were marching bands, horses, floats and plenty of candy passed out to the hundreds who lined the parade route. The parade began in Phenix City, AL and ended in Columbus. Viewers saw the JROTC march as well as men and women in the United States military.
