Metro Columbus Golf Association Presents Scholarships

By Times Staff Writer Columbus, GA – The Metro Columbus Golf Association held their First Annual Golf Tournament on April 14, 2012 at Oxbow Creek Golf Course in the city. The tournament was held to raise funds for scholarships. The following students received scholarships for achievement in the 2012 school term. The scholarship recipients are: Mr. Christen Hadley, Shaw High School Class of 2012 Golf team who will be attending Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Al, $500; Mr. Travis Perry, Spencer High School Class of 2012, State wide award $500; and Miss Rachel Cantrell, Spencer High School Class of 2012 Valedictorian $500.00 scholarship. Georgia Museum of Art to show prints and drawings by Gerald L. Brockhurst

Athens, Ga. – As part of its commitment to the continued research of Gerald Leslie Brockhurst’s work, the Georgia Museum of Art (GMOA) at the University of Georgia is organizing an exhibition of 41 prints and drawings by the artist exclusively from the collection of Daniel and Rosalyn Jacobs. The exhibition will be on view from June 30 to Sept. 16, 2012. Gerald Brockhurst is not unknown to GMOA’s longtime patrons.
